This original Bluefin Tuna Gyotaku captures the raw power of a 400-pound giant, sourced from Japan and featured in a live tuna cutting ceremony at the restaurant Kore in Sarasota during a Lunar New Year celebration. This is not a reproduction — each piece is an authentic, hand-pulled gyotaku print created directly from the fish itself using traditional Japanese techniques.

The composition focuses on the powerful tail section, emphasizing motion, mass, and the unmistakable presence of one of the ocean’s most prized species. Every mark, texture, and variation in ink is the result of the direct printing process, making each piece completely unique.

A total of four original works are currently available, along with 2 special variations featuring subtle yellow fin accents along the body.

Every artwork is hand signed and finished with my Japanese Hanko (Name Stamp), certifying its authenticity as an original gyotaku print.
