This is an original, handmade Blackfin Tuna Gyotaku created using acrylic ink on traditional Thai Mulberry paper. This fish was caught during a fishing trip to the Dry Tortugas, Florida, and its eye has been carefully hand-painted using metallic acrylic paints to authentically reflect its natural brilliance.

The piece has been hand-flattened using traditional Urauchi techniques and backed with an additional layer of Thai Mulberry paper for strength and archival quality.

Each original print is hand signed and marked with my Japanese Hanko (name seal), certifying its authenticity as a one-of-a-kind piece of ocean art.

Gyotaku (魚拓) is a traditional Japanese art form dating back to the 1800s, originally used to record notable catches. Today, it is celebrated for its ability to preserve the beauty of marine life in stunning, lifelike detail.
