This is a limited edition reproduction of an original Gyotaku featuring a powerful King Mackerel. The original print was created using metallic and iridescent acrylic ink on striking black Thai Mulberry paper. The eye was hand-painted with watercolor to replicate the lifelike shimmer of the real fish.

The Kingfish in this artwork was caught while fishing off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida, and the baitfish (Greenbacks) were gifted by a local fishing guide—adding depth and authenticity to the story behind the print.

These reprints are created using Giclée printers with museum-quality archival paper and pigment inks to ensure longevity and vibrant color. Each piece is made to order, hand signed, individually numbered, and stamped with my Japanese Hanko (Name Stamp).

If you're interested in original works, alternate sizes, or have a special request, custom orders are available on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form that began in the 1800s as a way to record and honor a fisherman’s catch. Today, these prints are cherished for their natural beauty, storytelling quality, and connection to the ocean.
