This is a limited edition reproduction of a hand-made Gyotaku featuring two Mahi-Mahi attacking a school of Greenbacks. The original piece was created using acrylic ink on Thai Mulberry paper, with each fish’s eye carefully hand-painted to reflect the lifelike brilliance of the real thing using acrylic paints.
This particular catch was made off the coast of Key West, Florida, and the baitfish used in the print were provided by a local charter captain—adding even more authenticity to the story behind the piece.
Each Giclée print is produced on museum-quality archival paper with pigment-based inks to ensure rich color and longevity. Every print is made to order, individually numbered, hand signed, and marked with my Japanese Hanko (Name Stamp).
If you’re interested in originals, alternative sizes, or have special requests, custom orders are available upon inquiry.
Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form that began in the 1800s as a way for anglers to document their catches. Today, these prints offer a timeless, artistic tribute to the ocean’s beauty and the memories made while fishing or diving.
