Original Mutton Snapper Gyotaku – Hand Made Fish Print on Korean Mulberry Paper
This is an original, hand made Mutton Snapper Gyotaku created using traditional Japanese Sumi ink on Korean Mulberry paper. The eye has been carefully painted by hand with watercolor to reflect the fish’s natural detail and beauty.
Each original print is hand signed, individually numbered, and marked with my Japanese Hanko (Name Stamp), making it a truly one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Gyotaku is an ancient Japanese technique that began in the mid-1800s as a way for fishermen to record their catches. Today, it is celebrated as a unique art form that captures the story of the fish and the moment it was caught. These prints serve as beautiful mementos and conversation pieces, bringing a piece of the ocean to your home.
